The INERTIA team works with various departments and companies to provide wearable, non-invasive methods for measuring, processing, and relaying physiological data.  The CHEST system can be used to gather various types of physiological data including heart rate, and body temperature while allowing for inertial and ambient measurements as well.  Empirical Technologies Corportation (ETC) developes physiological monitoring systems for both humans and animals, and the INERTIA team is designing a system to work with ETC’s Bluetooth enabled systems and relay important physiological data to a base station for first responders.  The RESPOND system relays physiological and GPS positon data to a base station using either the cell or a long-range two-way radio network.
